CardioShape

CardioShape is an eHealth technology ecosystem designed for home-based cardiac rehabilitation through virtual reality, real-time monitoring, and a cloud platform for clinical supervision. The solution was developed for adult patients with ischaemic heart disease as well as adult and paediatric patients with congenital heart conditions, bringing therapeutic follow-up into a more accessible, structured, and controlled environment.

Its differentiating value lies in combining a gamified VR module with smart cardiac devices and a cloud layer through which healthcare professionals can monitor vital data, track progress, and adjust exercise programmes based on real-world information. The system also incorporates remote planning, custom exercise design, early anomaly detection, and fluid communication between patient and clinical team, strengthening both personalisation and continuity of care.

The project was supported by the collaboration between Oblumi, OdderLabs, and the Paediatric Cardiology Department at Hospital Virgen del Rocío, including the development of the virtual reality module, the exercise editor, and the clinical validation of the system in a 12-week pilot with paediatric patients. CardioShape therefore represents an advanced application of immersive technology in a demanding healthcare setting, where the value of the solution depends on user experience, clinical supervision, data traceability, and real-world validation.
